CBD is a cannabinoid, that is to say a component, a molecule present in the hemp plant Sativa. This component can be extracted from the plant and isolated from the rest of the molecules that make it up. Hemp can have several properties and each cannabinoid has its own properties. By isolating the cannabinoids separately, we can select the properties separately as well. It is this specific process of isolating CBD that interests us. Specifically, THC (the plant molecule with the ‘high’ effects) is excluded here. Strictly speaking, CBD has no psychotropic or intoxicating effect. It does not make you “high” at all.
